Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) provides loan services for equipment and venue booking to university members for activities, presentations or self-learning purposes.
Points to note
- Only current staff and students of HKSYU are eligible to borrow equipment.
- Borrowed equipment must be collected and returned by the due date.
- Equipment can only be used on the University campus for academic or educational purposes.
- Borrowers are required to inspect the physical condition of the equipment during each checkout and should report any defects or malfunctions to the duty staff immediately.
- All borrowed equipment must be handled carefully; any breakage may result in charges.
- Borrowers must ensure the safety and security of the equipment. Do not leave devices unattended. Borrowers are fully responsible for the care of the devices and accessories they borrow and will be liable for repair or replacement costs in case of damage, loss, or theft.

Damages and Losses
If the borrowed equipment is lost or unrepairable, the borrower will be required to compensate the University according to the following compensation scale.

Compensation ratio based on the equipment’s original price |
| Under 2 years | 100% |
| 3 to 4 years | 80% |
| 5 to 6 years | 50% |
| Above 7 years | 30% |
If the borrowed equipment is repairable, the borrower is required to pay the repair fee in full.
